Kaye and Keith extend a warm welcome to visitors and enjoy providing them with the experience of living with a friendly farming family on a typical New Zealand high country farm. |

Some farming activities are seasonal e.g. shearing, which is done on Glenmac in September and October, but sometimes there is the opportunity to visit another farm to view this interesting operation. The friendly sheep dogs have an important job to do when it is time to muster (round up) the sheep. Horses are often used at mustering time but they are also available for Horse riding and trekking. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Horse rides can vary from a short walk around the home paddock to a few hours riding up and down hills taking in the fantastic views. A small pony is also available to give children rides.
A trip by four wheel drive vehicle is another way to enjoy the hills and scenery and see the sheep and cattle grazing. Again the the length of the trip can vary depending on individual requirements. The pet sheep are kept nearby and enjoy a biscuit and a pat. Mountain Bikes are another way of touring the farm or exploring the roads and tracks. (bikes are available) For those who enjoy walking (tramping) their is the opportunity to explore the hills and river valleys following well defined tracks. Perhaps take lunch and make a day of it or just enjoy a short stroll. The views are fantastic!
